About
This site has been created as a Life Line or backup of CandlePowerForums.com (CPF) and it’s other associated fora.
This site is for the sole purpose of updates on CPF outages and maintenance.
At this time, the known issues with CPF have been reported in detail in the Announcement forum on CPF Here: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=195932
In addition, there is a notification regarding the status of CPFUnderground posted in the Announcement forum on CPF here: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=196305
The issues are being worked on. The “down time” at this time is usually for only a few minutes unless maintenance is being done. In which case, notifications will be posted here on this site and a Closure message is posted on the forum itself.
I understand that there are often extended periods of time in the middle of the night (for the US). These issues clear themselves within a reasonable time but are often caused by someone deliberately exploiting known issues with the current server and software set up. I have no sympathy for anyone who does this and then can’t access CPF. And yes, I do know who you are. These deliberate malicious exploitations also take place during the day (in the US) as well. The database errors that occasionally occur are a direct result of these exploitations being “killed” before they can bring the entire server to a halt.
When/if slow-downs occur, it takes less time for an admin to fix the problem than it does to come here and post that we are aware of the slow-down and are on it. In the future, no such updates will be posted here. The only updates that will be posted here are when it is known that the site(s) will be down for an extended period of time due to maintenance and/or upgrades, updates or server migrations. This site is not for bitching and moaning over very brief and temporary unavailability. If an admin has not posted here, take it to mean that we are aware of the issue and it will more than likely be resolved before you can finish posting your complaint.
To that end, adding comments to existing threads here has been disabled. When/if CPF and/or any of the other sites will be down for extended periods of time, a thread will be started by an admin and comments will be enabled for that specific incident and then closed once the incident is no longer an issue.
If you want to bitch and moan about the state of CPF there are plenty of other places on the world wide web to do so. Go find them. This site is not for that purpose.
